“This is thanking you for showing us your Patrol car that has had after-market upgrades to it. I have been working as an EVOC instructor for 4.5 years and was very impressed with how your car handled. Don Varkevisser also drove your car and he was also very impressed. He stated that it felt like driving a "go cart". Don has been an EVOC instructor for about 14 years.
The track was very wet on this day and this made it even more impressive. It stuck to the road way better than any car I have driven under those conditions and the power was also impressive. I did not feel like I needed to "feather the gas" to keep from losing traction. I made a note to myself that it felt like it had a traction control feature as if it was not giving it the full power until the platform was stable. I knew this was not the case when I jerked on the steering wheel and romped on the gas making it down shift and then I was able to get it into a skid. You verified the car did not have traction control. The best explanation, from me, is that the aftermarket suspension helps keep the car more level while corning. Our mechanic stated that he did not feel the body roll like he usually does. I drove a 2006 a couple of days later with the same track conditions and I was able to get this car broadside with very little effort at all. The only difference that I can think of, besides it being stock, was that the trunk was empty.
Feel free to contact me again when we have more cones set up and the course is dry to run some other performance tests. Is there any other questions I can answer for you?
Thanks again,
P.S. The sound of the car from was also a nice touch!
